A kind of chest (casket) – kebezhe (storage locker for products) richly decorated with ornaments symbolizing abundance and prosperity – whirl bases, spirals, corneal curls, etc.
In Kazakh language there is a proverb: “är bir üide bir kebezhe qalaida bolu kerek” (In every house there should be at least one casket for storing food) [7, p.267]. The indirect meaning of kebezhe as a source of wealth is depicted in the ancient Kazakh legend that tells of an evil khan who ordered the killing of all the elders in the village. In the end, all the old men were killed. But one of the young men hid his father in a kebezhe, and on the way accompanied by difficulties, the elder saved people more than once with his advice to his son.
Another type of casket is the cupboard called asadal (per. – noble food). These items were widely used in Central and Eastern Kazakhstan. They were equipped with a two-winged door, in the upper part there was a drawer, in the lower part there were shelves [7, p. 268]. The very authentic name of the cupboard says that special attention was paid to the cleanliness of the dishes and borrowed dishes filled with sweets were returned. At night, the dishes and food were always placed in the cupboard, because according to popular belief, the impure power comes to the dishes left open.
